Welcome to AMANDINE!

Close your eyes and imagine an old bicycle propped against the railings, two friends playing checkers on a sidewalk table, the aroma of fresh coffee and warm pastry fills the air, well, that's us—a slice of European charm nestled in the heart of Maine's Mid-coast community.

My wife and I, natives of Europe, found our home in Maine over two decades ago. Our journey led us to the quaint town of Searsport, where we discovered the old Dakin Building, a piece of local history with a colorful past. From its days as Glady's Cafe in the 1950s to its various transformations into a gym, feed store, and even a computer shop, the building finally became ours in 2018, forming the foundation of what is now known as the Rio's Restaurant plaza.

In 2021, we realized our dream of opening a gourmet restaurant, but our vision didn't stop there. Inspired by our European roots and our love for the warm Maine hospitality, we embarked on our next adventure: AMANDINE Bakery.

Nestled within the same building at 357 W. Main St, Searsport, AMANDINE is more than just a bakery—it's a culinary and cultural hub where pastries, savories, and local art converge. Step inside, and you'll find yourself enveloped in an urban oasis, where the aroma of freshly baked treats mingles with the sight of local art pieces adorning the walls.

Indulge in our unique pastry creations, crafted with love and precision, and pair them with a cup of expertly brewed coffee. Take a seat in our cozy cafe area, where the serene backdrop of Penobscot Bay provides the perfect setting for leisurely conversations and moments of reflection.
